However, due to both the advancements in technology and the global aim of reducing our planet’s carbon footprint, we have started to digitise a lot of old traditions.

In this manner, we have tried to eliminate using paper where we can and instead communicate using the digital equivalent. However, there have been some opinions that if you send your invitations digitally, this can be seen as ‘tacky’. Well, today we are going to look at this in more detail. It’s estimated that there are around 85,000 marriages each year here in the UK alone.

If you’re the average person, you’ll know that nearly everyone in your friend and family circle who will have their name on the invitation list can be reached through digital means one way or another, whether it’s through an email or through Facebook, for example. Of course, there are those that aren’t fond of technology, who are typically of the older age groups and whom you may still need to invite either in person or by post, but on the whole, it’s just as easy to reach them online.

It’s not a quick and thoughtless alternative

Of course, it’s no surprise that we disagree with the view that digital invitations are tacky. But rather than just saying this, we are going to give you some reasons as to why this is. When people tend to think of something being digitised, they tend to think of it being put together by a computer and to really lack that human input. However, this is actually very far from the case. And it’s usually people who haven’t received a wedding invitation digitally who are of this opinion. Just like any other aspect of wedding planning, people put a lot of thought into the intricacies of a digital invitation, the same small details that they would with a physical invitation.

Cutting down on costs

And they’re not just the environmental alternative to its paper-based equivalent; they’re also a lot more economical. When it comes to everything surrounding your wedding day, and also the day itself, it can start to get very expensive. And so if you can cut back on costs in areas such as wedding invitations, it means that the money can then be spent on other areas of your wedding costs. If you think about it, you are saving a lot of money, usually only having to spend on the design costs rather than postage and paper costs, in addition to the design costs that are involved with the design, production, and sending of paper wedding invitations.

Don’t include too much information

Of course, the things to include and not include on a wedding invitation are the same whether you’re sending them out in paper form or digitally. This includes not putting too much information on but, at the same time, including everything they need to know. Without saying, this means the hosts of the event, which would be the people getting married, as well as the location and the time. And you may also, if you wish, want to put the dress code on there. This is all they need, along with potentially a contact number or email address should they want to reply to you.

Choose the right platform

We always recommend using an app [potentially linking the inner link here, but at the moment it doesn’t load] in order to speed up the process. There are specialist apps that utilise AI in order to not only speed up the process but also to understand exactly what you want. This also saves you the time of having to shortlist and go through various graphic designers online until you find one that you think will be just right for you. Using these apps also means that you can type in and include the content that you want and with just a few clicks, you can change what you don’t like about the template that you’ve been given. They are really user-friendly, meaning that you don’t have to know any coding or front-end design at all.

In Summary

Hopefully, this has given you enough reasons to look at why digital invitations aren’t tacky and in particular, when you’re sending out invitations for your wedding. In no way does choosing the right app or business compromise the quality. But at the same time, as we mentioned at the start, you’re always going to want to make sure that some paper invites are indeed made for those guests that aren’t available online but to keep these to a minimum in order to still feel the economical and environmental benefits that we have covered today.

When it comes to inviting people to your wedding day, traditionally this was done by sending them a physical invitation by letter or post, inviting them to join you on …

[21

post-28232","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-digital-wedding-invitation
["GET
