Grass Room DTLA by Marvimon

Planning Process: The coordinators here were really helpful throughout the entire process. From touring us during our first visit, to making the application process easy, to hosting follow-up meetings with us and our wedding planner, and to making sure our rehearsal was met smoothly. Atmosphere: We really love the theme of this place: full of art, romantic colors, and jungle greenery. This venue fit our 50 guest so well, making it feel intimate. Lastly, though this is an indoor wedding, they had a retractable roof over the ceremony space that gave us nice outdoor air, while at the same time AC was still provided so it was always cool. Location: This location was not only conveniently close to our DTLA home, but it also allowed our guests to stay in DTLA and enjoy the many nearby things to do. Additional features: There’s a nice outdoor area that we used to take breaks and pictures. The Madonna room is also a nice place, where my wife and I could take breaks, or where my MC could hype up my wedding party. Feedback: The sound system lacked a subwoofer (or at least couldn’t hear it), which would have made music sound a little better to listen and dance to. Also, the shared restrooms can be a bit difficult to share, especially if someone locks the door. Overall take: This venue was perfect for us, and it did exactly how we imagined it to. The Grass Room is such an amazing space to host a wedding or any other special celebration. It's a literal concrete jungle—as it has an awesome tropical green house vibe, while being located in the heart of downtown LA. I had the pleasure of planning and coordinating a wedding here, and it was such a great experience from start to finish. Dana, Clare, and the rest of the Marvimon team made the whole planning process so seamless for me and my clients. The venue itself needs little to no decor, as it is gorgeous on its own—but we had a lot of fun personalizing it to create a fun and unique vibe for the bride and groom's special day. I love Grass Room DTLA! I am a wedding photographer and I am obsessed with this space. I have documented many celebrations here and always leave wanting more. It is such a cool, modern space with unique touches like a literal jungle/ greenhouse that truly make your wedding a VIBE. I HIGHLY recommend this space if you are looking for a centrally located venue in the heart of LA's arts district.

This is hands-down one of my absolute favorite venues to photograph weddings at in Los Angeles! The staff is always a dream to work with (seriously, above and beyond helpful), the venue layout makes it so easy for me to document everything without missing a beat, and of course the venue itself is just gorgeous. My couples choose it because it offers such a unique backdrop in LA -- love that "urban jungle" vibe -- and I've always heard good things from the newlyweds afterwards. It's such a gem in this city! I photograph at a lot of different venues and see everything behind the scenes, and honestly I cannot say enough good things about the Grass Room and all of the other Marvimon properties as well!
