Old Brown House: Los Angeles Wedding Venue

Old Brown House is a true gem wedding venue tucked away in our neighborhood of Highland Park! We got married here in November 2025 and it was the best experience I could've imagined for our semi-traditional ceremony (we had a beautiful but quick ceremony and took photos here before our larger reception at a dive-y concert venue). Tessie and Dan feel like close friends the second you meet them, so its easy to trust them to make everything run smoothly even when there is virtually no 'planning' - just a time slot, requests for song files (if desired), confirmation on group size, and whether to add a punch party to the celebration (highly recommend - Tessie was even ultra-careful to choose snacks that were safe for my peanut allergy). We didn't know exactly what to expect, but we knew it would be cute, and it sure was. Beautiful, in fact. The space is picture perfect, our exact aesthetic! If you are looking for a small wedding venue, I highly recommend Old Brown House for any couple who wants the ease of a Vegas chapel with the elegance of a traditional venue that feels vintage yet personal. We will never stop telling the beautiful story of our perfect elopement at the Old Brown House, and our incredible experience with Tessie & Dan! We can't thank them enough for providing us with the most special and intimate wedding day. Everything was PERFECT. It was our dream to celebrate the day in a private, intimate way and Tessie & Dan went above and beyond on all of the thoughtful details. They had a beautiful spread of snacks, drinks and even a cake for us to enjoy after the ceremony. Both of our dogs were also able to be with us the entire time, it was so fun watching them run around the house wondering what we were doing :) The entire experience was so meaningful and we truly felt the charm of the Old Brown House and the love and care Tessie & Dan put into making it a magical place! The details of the house are absolutely stunning, every inch of the house is picture-perfect. Every small detail was thoughtfully placed and our photographer had a blast taking photos here! Tessie & Dan made us feel so welcome and comfortable the moment we arrived, we especially loved dancing with Tessie during our tour. Dan provided us with a beautiful ceremony that we will replay in our hearts and minds forever and we both are so grateful to be a part of the Old Brown House family! This wasn't just a 5 star experience, this was an out-of-this-world/above-and-beyond/once-in-a-lifetime core memory for us and we are so thankful to Tessie & Dan for welcoming us to share such a special day at their Old Brown House.

Tess and Dan were amazing Host! The decore and vibes were perfect for our wedding. They made all of us feel so welcomed and loved. Old Brown House is the perfect place to have an intimate celebration between your closest friends and family. They kept great communication with us, till our big day. A WAY overdue review here... But what a REMARKABLY SENSATIONAL experience the Old Brown House provided to my wife and me! Tess and Dan are two absolutely genuine, loving, and caring people that went well above and beyond to guarantee my wife and I the type of ceremony we had only intended! A very close, intimate, and small ceremony amongst our closest friends and family including our son (our little terrier mix Pazuzu) was all that we wanted, and Tess and Dan more than delivered. From the beautiful aesthetic of the house inside and out based on all of the love, passion, and hard work that they themselves put into consisting of all the woodwork, metal crafting, and landscaping, to how genuinely accommodating both Tess and Dan were and are. Though small and intimate was the type of ceremony my wife and I were going for, our party of invitees was rather large. Because of this, both the inside chapel and outside barn was unable to accommodate the size of our party in one ceremony. Instead, Tess and Dan worked with us and decided to offer us to have two back-to-back ceremonies! Something they had never done before! One for our friends inside, and the other for our families outside; and the turnout was absolutely AMAZING, and we could not have asked for anything more! If a Vegas style elopement or micro-wedding is what you have in mind, do not waste the opportunity on having it here at the Old Brown House. Because this is not your typical, boring, outdated, and unfashionable setting. Tess and Dan are two beautiful people that have put a lot of time, effort, and love into this house that you will be left feeling nothing short of elated and gratified. Endless thanks, Tess and Dan!

We had our ceremony and pre-party package at old brown house and were so happy with how everything went. The ambiance is funky, warm, and celebratory — all of our guests LOVED it as much as we did! Tessie and Dan were wonderful to work with and helped us along the way, answering all of our questions as we became increasingly frantic with planning! They were more than open to having our dads play music together before the ceremony, which was important to us. Dan’s officiating was also beautiful. If you’re looking for an affordable and unique space to have your ceremony, whether you reserve your time or are a walk-in, we definitely recommend checking out old brown house.
