Portico Awbury Arboretum – Philadelphia Wedding Venue

Portico is the perfect venue near Philadelphia - this secluded gardens and lovely house are tucked into Germantown but feels miles away from the city life. We held a wedding at the end of August and it literally couldn’t have been a more perfect location to celebrate during the end of summer. Beyond the space, we absolutely adored working with the Peachtree (caterer that owns the venue) team. A huge draw to the venue for us was how fairly inclusive it was with tent, lighting, tables, chairs, linens, dinnerware, glassware, staff, getting ready space, and day of coordinator included in our prices. Every member of the team was a joy leading up to and during the wedding. Everyone was just so nice, accommodating, and friendly. They made the wedding day feel so easy that we really got to just relax and be guests at our wedding. I am just so thankful for all of their time, effort & support to make our day special. I would highly recommend this venue to any couple getting married in/near Philly.

From the very beginning of the planning process to the final dance of the evening, every moment was seamless, stress-free, and truly magical. The ceremony space is surrounded by lush greenery, and beautiful historic architecture that makes it feel like you’ve stepped into a fairytale. We were lucky to have perfect weather, but honestly, this venue would be beautiful in any season. The staff at The Portico were incredible. They were responsive, organized, and genuinely invested in making our day special. Everything ran right on schedule, and they worked so smoothly with our other vendors that we didn’t have to worry about a single detail. We were able to just be present and enjoy every second of our day. Portico provides a day-of coordinator, and we were lucky enough to have Lindsay. She was a perfect match for us and truly added so much value and peace to the wedding planning. At the end of the evening, all of our provided decorations were packed neatly and carefully. Guests are still raving about how beautiful and peaceful the setting was. It felt private and intimate, yet spacious and open. We had our ceremony on the front lawn, cocktail hour on the wrap around porch, and reception in the tent and house. The ambiance was romantic and warm—exactly what we envisioned. If you're considering The Portico at Awbury Arboretum for your wedding, stop thinking and book it. It was the best decision we made, every penny was worth it. Portico Awbury Arboretum was the perfect venue for our wedding. The venue is gorgeous but also incredibly well run. Lindsey was our coordinator and could not have been easier to work with. The planning process was incredibly seamless and it made for a perfect day. From start to finish everything ran smoothly and exactly as we were told it would go. The food was amazing as was the entire day of staff. We cannot thank everyone at Portico Awbury Arboretum enough for such a special day!!

We absolutely loved having our wedding at Portico at Awbury Arboretum. The venue is truly a hidden gem in Philadelphia—surrounded by lush gardens and towering trees, it feels like stepping into a serene clearing in the woods while still being in the city. In the summer, the arboretum is breathtaking, with flowers in full bloom and a natural beauty that feels refined but never overly manicured. The ceremony spaces are gorgeous, and the large, airy tent was perfect for our reception, keeping guests comfortable even in the summer heat. We were initially a bit nervous about having dinner and dancing in separate areas, but it turned out to be one of the best aspects of the venue. Guests mingled easily between the portico, the wraparound porch, and the side yard, while the energy on the indoor dance floor stayed lively and fun. Another delightful surprise was the scenic walking trails that wind around the venue. Many of our guests took short strolls during the evening, adding to the relaxed, natural atmosphere. We had the most beautiful September wedding at Portico (Awbury Arboretum) — literally nothing went wrong. We had amazing weather, beautiful surroundings, and everyone had a wonderful time. From start to finish the team at Peachtree was so accommodating and lovely. Fallyn helped us tour the venue on a cold December day and really helped us imagine it working for us. Stephanie helped us get the logistics figured out. The team at the tasting was so kind and accommodating. We want to specifically shout out how good they were at accounting for dietary restrictions and allergies with the catering. There wasn’t just one sad ‘veggie’ platter option for the vegans and non-dairy friends — everyone had something good to eat. On our wedding day, Stephanie helped make sure that everything went right, coordinating with her team and all of our vendors. We also have to give a special shout-out to Ashley, our friendly attendant who was always making sure that our bridesmaids had coffee to drink and we had food to eat, and Jess, our bartender who all of our guests fell in love with. Peachtree’s team is so professional, capable, and efficient, but also at every point they also made us feel special and made the day feel like ours. We were able to spend the whole day focusing on each other and our guests, knowing we were in their good hands.
