Flora: Exquisite Wedding Venue in San Diego

I truly believe that it would be impossible to have anything other than a perfect event experience with Flora. From the moment we walked in for our initial tour the space took our breath away. What blends into a nondescript downtown landscape opens up to a light, airy, whimsical venue that is so stunning out of the box. You could choose to bring in nothing additional and guests' jaws will still drop when they walk in. But that isn't even close to all that makes Flora special. A place like Flora is a labor of love, and you feel that immediately upon interacting with the owner, Katherine. In setting up the venue tour she was very responsive. From submitting the inquiry online to scheduling the tour, every email with her was replied to in a very timely manner. And throughout the wedding planning process I had learned the hard way that this is a necessary green flag... During the tour she was warm and welcoming, making sure every question we had was answered and never making us feel rushed to be in and out within a time slot. She also highlighted how they focus on working/sourcing with locally run small businesses, and that was so special to us. After we booked Flora and went on to meet the other members of her team it was clear that not only was that the kind of treatment we would always receive from her, but from everyone else that works at Flora too. I specifically want to shout out; Jameson - Venue Director extraordinaire and someone who (after almost 2 years of wedding planning) feels like family. As a very Type A person it can be hard for me to delegate and trust something so personal as my wedding to someone else. But with Jameson's meticulous attention to detail, it became so easy to trust him to handle anything that came up. He made sure he understood our vision so well that even during the wedding he was able to address and make adjustments that we would have wanted without my husband or I even knowing about a situation. Jade - A gem of a human and our Sanity Manager, aka Wedding Coordinator. Nothing escaped Jade's notice in both the months leading up to the wedding and on the day of. She handled vendors like a ninja, and wrangled our family members in ways I didn't even know about until weeks after the wedding. Having a Wedding Coordinator for us was not a want, but a NEED. And no one could've done better than Jade! Robin - Bar Director (and frankly, guest's happiness manager), once again someone I couldn't imagine our wedding without. She was on top of every little detail; from special ordering specific cherries we wanted for our drinks, to sourcing the perfect alternate Sour when one of our beer choices was no longer available. She made sure to check on us multiple times on the wedding day, and had the bar running without a single hiccup. The bartenders also made sure to check on both my husband and me throughout the reception and would hand deliver us drinks when we never had a chance to make it to the bar. At the end of this long love letter to Flora, and the people who make it so special, there's only one conclusion; Book the venue. Whatever the occasion, they'll make your experience a dream come true.

Flora was INCREDIBLE! The venue is stunning in its own right, and there are so many details that are so well thought out. I couldn't have dreamt up a better and more beautiful and perfect venue if I tried. Katherine the owner was kind, accommodating, and present throughout the entire process, its easy to see the love she pours into her career. Jameson was an ALL STAR- he stays on top of so many details, has great recommendations, makes sure to contact us in the ways that is easiest for the couples (as you know there are so many people who need so many things), and did it all with humor, grace, and an upbeat attitude. A true delight to talk and work with. Jade was 100/10- could not have asked for a better coordinator. She was professional, arranged things beautifully, and kept my very type B personality in line with her very organized spreadsheets and templates- making sure there was no stress on set up or break down or contracts. Not to mention she took some beautiful candid photos - you can see how much she cares and shows up for the couple on their day. We used All Aspects Catering for food/DJ/Photobooth and it was the perfect pairing! - I would DEFINITELY recommend using them. Great price for very high end service. (also on their vendor list) My review specifically only has four stars due to one worker I would HIGHLY NOT SUGGEST, Robin. She was last minute, terrible communicator, condescending, did not prepare enough of an item we paid extra for at the bar (later had to really have a hard conversation with Katherine about to even get money back- which I appreciated on Katherines behalf). Overall Robin was the only factor in my wedding I would never hire and would completely avoid using. If you get put with her, for your own sanity- ask for ANYONE else to help you manage your bar package. Working with her is not worth stress on your wedding day. I know the issues I had, could have easily been avoided had she done her job at any point in our entire 8? month contract, yet the first time I heard from her was a week prior (even after requesting to get bar updates). To fix this: I would recommend asking for help from Jameson instead- he seemed well informed about the bar and always responded timely/kindly/and accurately. Again, I would DEFINITELY recommend Flora. Katherine has built a wonderful business. It was a privilege to get married at her venue. It was hard to even put 4 stars because I loved my wedding SO very much, but I had been clear with Katherine that I would be honest to future couples and about my awful experience with Robin.

How lucky am I to get married where I work! As someone who works weddings every weekend, it was surreal to finally be on the other side and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience than with Flora the Venue. I might be a little biased, but the coordination team is genuinely top-tier. A huge thank you to Jameson, Jade, Ash, Angie, and Adam for making my husband and myself feel so supported and celebrated every step of the way. Most of all, I’m so grateful to Katherine, Flora’s owner, for her constant support, guidance, and generosity throughout the planning process. From start to finish, I felt taken care of not just as a client, but as part of the Flora family. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the venue’s lush greenery and stunning ambiance, many said they never expected such a magical space tucked right in the heart of downtown San Diego. Flora will always hold such a special place in our hearts

My husband and I cannot thank Flora enough for making our wedding an absolute dream come true. The staff is amazing and so easy to work with. The venue speaks for itself, it is so beautiful! It feels like a botanical garden dream!!! The owner Katherine is such a sweetheart. We had our first meeting with her and she was so helpful from start to finish. Jameson was our day of coordinator and absolutely crushed it!!! He made our big day run smoothly and we can’t thank him enough! We wish you the best on your next adventure! From the day we toured the venue and met the team to wedding day, Flora made the whole process seamless! As someone who hates to plan, I can say I had very little stress and we were blown away by the attentiveness the day of! The venue itself is beautiful, garden chic, and every time we talk with friends about the wedding they always mention the mirror partitions and how dream-like of an entrance it was! The bar was also top tier and all of the vendors recommended by the team were 10/10. highly recommend!
