Villa Merlo Nero: Your Dream Florentine Wedding

We had the most amazing 5 days at Villa Merlo Nero to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday. We rented the entire property and invited friends and family. When we were at the villa, it was as if we were deep into the beautiful Tuscan country side. And yet it was only 2 miles (30-40 minutes to walk) to the center of city. Each room was so unique and beautifully decorated. The staff was so accommodating and was great with recommendations. We spent half of our time on property, and half of our time enjoying the surrounding area. I would highly recommend Villa Merlo Nero.

This past summer, my husband and I celebrated our wedding at the breathtaking Villa Merlo Nero in Florence. Traveling from Canada, we expected the challenges of planning a destination wedding, but the process could not have been more seamless thanks to this incredible venue. Communication was flawless and the villa connected us with a curated list of trusted, high-quality vendors, making the planning experience stress-free. We stayed from Monday to Friday with 25 of our closest family and friends, and the villa was the perfect setting. Conveniently located in Florence yet nestled in the Tuscan countryside, it offered the romantic atmosphere we dreamed of while still allowing guests to enjoy excursions and sightseeing with ease. The property itself exceeded our expectations: spacious, beautifully maintained rooms filled with antiques and charm, and the grounds are straight out of a fairy tale. The staff were exceptional and genuinely invested in making sure our stay and events unfolded perfectly. We kicked off the week with a welcome pool and pizza party, which set the tone for the celebrations to come. On the wedding day, the villa’s three buildings provided ample space for everyone to get ready comfortably. Our ceremony took place in the olive grove beside the pool, an intimate and picturesque spot that suited our 25-person guest list perfectly. Pre-ceremony drinks were enjoyed in the shaded pool area, followed by a cocktail hour in the open field beyond the olive trees. Portraits in the maze garden captured the villa’s timeless beauty, and dinner with dancing in front of the main villa created an unforgettable evening. When quiet hours began at 10 PM, the celebration continued in the wine cellar dance space, which provided a unique and lively setting that kept the party going late into the night. Villa Merlo Nero offers no shortage of enchanting spaces for every part of your celebration, and it gave us the most magical backdrop for the best day of our lives. We are forever grateful to the villa and its staff for making our wedding week truly unforgettable.

We hosted our welcome party and wedding ceremony/reception at Villa merlo Nero and it was a dream come true. The Villa slept both sides of our family very comfortably (28 people.) The grounds were gorgeous the rooms were the perfect mix of comfortable / vintage furniture and beautiful. Our guests were able to take shuttles to and from down town Florence 15 mins each way to get back to their accommodations easily. The staff was very helpful and professional throughout our planning and day of events. We couldn’t be happier with our experience!

Had our dream wedding here early November and it was absolutely perfect! Such a beautiful place, extremely helpful and friendly staff, excellent location, stunning views and property overall.
