On Saturday, India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad tied the knot with the woman he has been dating for a very long time, Utkarsha Pawar, in a lavish wedding ceremony in Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra.
Gaikwad played a critical role in Chennai Super Kings’ victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in the finals of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He wore embroidered white sherwani with a pair of matching pyjamas, and a dupatta designed by renowned fashion designer Manish Malhotra. He completed his outfit by donning a white saafa that had a brooch affixed to it, along with a stacked pearl necklace. The green beads on the necklace provided a splash of colour to his white sherwani. The 30-year-old groom looked his best in his wedding attire.
Utkarsha stole the show in a white chikankari lehenga by Pallod Creations. A beaded v-neck blouse and a sheer, simple zari dupatta completed the outfit. She wore a set of complementary gold, stone-encrusted accessories, including a choker, earrings, and bangles. Her hair was secured in a bun that was ornamented with a gajra. A minimal amount of natural makeup consisting of nude brown lip colour, flushed cheeks, and a smooth application of eyeliner and eyeshadow just added to her dreamy look.

Gaikwad took to his Instagram and posted his wedding pictures there with the caption: “From the pitch to the altar, our journey begins!” Their social media is now flooded with congratulatory messages from fans and other fellow cricketers, including Shikhar Dhawan, Rashid Khan, Shreyas Iyer, Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar and Umran Malik.
The wedding was attended by close family members, friends, and some of Gaikwad’s CSK teammates, including Shivam Dube and Prashant Solanki.
